Nitrous oxide -- N2O, commonly called laughing gas -- arrives in a kitchen as either a cream charger or a professional tank. Identical gas, different tool.
A cream charger is a sealed unit at 666 g, 2 kg or 4.33 kg. It connects to compatible dispensing equipment, runs through, and is replaced. Storage is minimal and holding a spare is trivial.
A professional N2O tank at 5 kg or 10 kg is a cylinder. Substantially more capacity, a compatible regulator required, and planned storage needed. The return is service that does not pause for a unit change.
Compare formats against the complete product documentation. Listed capacity does not by itself confirm suitability, compatibility or a particular outcome. Keep the package requirements, approved equipment and intended purpose alongside the amount. Do not substitute one format for another simply because the larger number appears more convenient.
Compliance does not differ between formats. Both are supplied for lawful culinary and food-service use, with equipment the current manufacturer instructions specify as compatible, within the applicable regulations. Inspect before use, never run damaged, altered or incorrectly connected equipment, and follow the manufacturer on handling, ventilation, storage and disposal.
If the right format is unclear, send the regulator or siphon you currently run and we will verify it against the listing before anything is arranged.
